Location: BOK Sports and Conference Centre, Expo Area 

Description: FIDE100 exhibition will be one of the main attractions of the Expo of the Chess Olympiad, celebrating rich history of chess and its governing body. Here you can discover the fascinating world of chess through the diverse collection of exhibits, explore the game’s history and learn about the 100-year path of the International Chess Federation which is celebrating its centenary.

Event: CAPTURE - The photo exhibition 
Location: Vigadó square

Description: CAPTURE is a photographic art installation which celebrates the game of chess in all its diverse beauty. Showcased in a luminous photo exhibition combined with stunning locations from around the world, CAPTURE invites its audience to experience a rather colorful world that is hiding behind sixty-four black and white squares. With this traveling exhibition CAPTURE is merging chess, art, education, competition, tradition, and lifestyle, guaranteeing a chess experience like no other.

Event: QUEEN TRAP - Music short film portraying women in chess  
Location: the Hungarian Fine Arts Museum 

Description: Queen Trap is an unreleased chess song by artist Juga, promoting female empowerment and sorority. It will be produced to become a music short film created by Juga, in co-production with FIDE Commission for Women´s Chess. This artistic project aims to bring visibility to women chess worldwide, by bringing together the best women chess players from 160 countries, as well as women working in chess: organizers, streamers, photographers, arbiters… 

We are already counting with the participation of Judit Polgar, Alexandra Kosteniuk, Elizabeth Paehtz, Bibisara Assaubayeva, Tania Sachdev and many more!

Event: Judit Polgar's 10th Global Chess Festival 
Location: Hungarian National Gallery and Intercontinental Budapest 

Description:  

The 2024 Judit Polgar’s Global Chess Festival will take place on September 17 at the Hungarian National Gallery and on September 18 at the Intercontinental Budapest. 

The festival will allow attendees to participate in games, workshops, demonstrations, and chess tournaments on the day off of the FIDE World Chess Olympiad. Fans will also have the chance to meet prominent figures in the sport, like famous players and content creators. 

Fans can also attend the 4th EDU Chess Summit, where multiple guest speakers will discuss chess as a tool to help educate and develop essential life skills.  

The event, now in its 10th edition, follows its mission to share the beauty of the game and connect people through chess.

Description: In 2024 FIDE marks the centenary of its founding. To celebrate it, International Chess Federation honors all of those who made and are making an exceptional contribution to the world of chess. We celebrate not only the rich history of FIDE but also the remarkable achievements of those people who have enhanced the sport through their dedication and passion either as players, arbiters, organizers, photographers, journalists, project leaders, authors or educators.  

The FIDE 100 Awards recognize the outstanding individuals and organizations that have significantly contributed to the development and promotion of chess globally. The Award Giving Ceremony will be held during the 45th FIDE Chess Olympiad in Budapest.

The Foundation offers a variety of programs every day.
